About Sophia Space Trust
We first enshrined our deities in Wanaka on 5th September in 2009. In September 2012, our charitable trust was granted, and on 29th January in 2013 a branch of the Sophia Space Trust was opened in Waiuku, Auckland.
We would like to thank our community and believers in New Zealand and Japan, we held a memorable ceremony for the 10th anniversary on 23th September 2018.
The Shrines in Wanaka and Auckland worship Kami of Shinto. We would be pleased to introduce Shinto to people in New Zealand. We also worship Buddha and we are pleased to offer the ancestral memorial services to many Japanese background people here in New Zealand as well.
Please feel free to visit our shrines.
Sophia Space Trust
*The origin of Sophia Space
Since 21st century, we as the human have entered the new era. Now, it is the time for us to broaden our minds. It is the time to remove some boarders from our thinking way, such as countries, human races, religions and sciences, to accept and well understand each other as a humanity.
We would like to become a place where people can learn and share the universal and everlasting teaching and philosophy to balance the mind and develop the awareness of the human.
We name our Shrine Sophia which has a meaning as a philosophy in Greek and is fate for us, and Space does not only mean a place but also universe. We hope that holly spirits from all over the world visit us freely and the human on the earth start to be a member of cosmos.
